Joining the Better Buildings Challenge

Have you joined the Better Buildings Challenge?

More than 110 organizations, representing more than 2 billion square feet of commercial and industrial buildings, currently partner with the U.S. Department of Energy in the Better Buildings Challenge. Launched in 2011, the goal of the Better Buildings Challenge is to make American commercial and industrial buildings at least 20 percent more energy efficient by 2020.

Whether you need assistance with reporting requirements or you’re thinking about joining this growing initiative, EnergyPrint can help. With the expertise to ensure that your reporting requirements are met, EnergyPrint will work with you to help you become a successful program partner.

Partners commit to an energy savings pledge, a showcase building project and publicly report consumption data every six months. Challenge partners must provide:

  • Square feet of floor space
  • Site energy use
  • Source energy use
  • Weather normalized energy intensity
  • Energy intensity adjusted for space attributes/operating characteristics (where available)
  • Total energy cost
  • Total energy costs per square foot

There are many resources available to learn more about the Better Buildings Challenge. Take advantage of this opportunity, not only be part of an innovative leadership initiative, but to start saving with EnergyPrint today.
